ABOUT US

My love for woodworking began in High School. I spent every chance I could in wood shop. I was fortunate to have an outstanding teacher, Mr. Gary Harris! By the end of my senior year, I knew the path I would take. I couldn't and wouldn't do anything but woodworking.

I started in the woodworking trade the day after graduation. I began working with a small family owned cabinet/woodworking shop. I spent 8 years with them until the downturn in the economy. After that I worked for a roofing company while still pursuing my woodworking on the side.

After two years, I finally made the jump and started my own custom woodworking business working out of my house garage. I spent the next 7 years growing that business until I was able to buy a commercial building in the city of Chesaning.

After two months of renovations, Backwoods Carpentry open it's new location. We are constantly growing and thankful for everyone's support over the years.
